There are times after a long day when I just feel off, a deep rooted fatigue and ache that seems to appear out of nowhere. When I’m feeling groggy, heavy, or disconnected from myself, I turn to golden milk.
It instantly softens any lingering stress in my body while also helping ease inflammation thanks to turmeric, specifically its active compound curcumin. I blend it into homemade oat milk with a touch of black pepper, and I can almost feel my body relax in real time. My shoulders drop, my jaw unclenches, and my whole body feels as if it has finally exhaled.
Paired with a good record and a book, this little ritual resets both my nervous system and my mind. It reminds me that sometimes a little extra love and a quiet pause are enough to bring you back to yourself.
For this comforting ritual, I left the recipe below.
