Spring has finally arrived, and I couldn’t be happier—it’s a season of rebirth, renewal, and new beginnings. One of my favorite ways to honor this time is with a simple door cleanse ritual. It’s not about strict timing or perfect technique; it’s about setting intention, inviting fresh energy, and blessing your home for the season.
When to Do It:
I live in the South, where spring bursts in with a vengeance and pollen covers everything. I usually wait until the pollen subsides before doing this cleanse, so don’t worry—you don’t have to do it on a specific day.
What You’ll Need:
A white candle
A bowl of water (new moon water is perfect, but distilled or filtered water works too)
Essential oils: popular choices are white sage, frankincense, lavender, eucalyptus, or lemon (10–12 drops)
A white microfiber or linen cloth
Step 1: Set Your Intention
Light your white candle and place it by your door. This helps repel any negative energy and sets the stage for your ritual.
Step 2: Prepare Your Water
Add your chosen essential oils to the water and stir. If you like, speak a mantra into the water, something like:
“This season will bring new energy. This season will bless me with clarity, joy, and abundance.”
Or simply leave the water as is.
Step 3: Cleanse Your Door
Dip your cloth into the water and begin washing your door from top to bottom. Focus on corners and cracks where energy can linger. Repeat your mantra aloud or silently as you go. Once the door is clean, use a second cloth to dry it.
Step 4: Dispose of the Water
Pour the remaining water on the floor in front of the door or dispose of it however feels right to you.
Step 5: Refresh Your Front Space
Take a moment to remove dead plants, replace your doormat, and tidy any clutter. This allows energy to flow freely into your home and into you.
Spring is a beautiful time to invite renewal into your life. I hope this ritual brings you joy, fresh energy, and a sense of calm as you step into the season. Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
With love & moonlight,
Vintessa
